Rafael has developed his professional career in management consulting, having specialized in innovation management within the public sector. Rafael has worked with multiple organizations helping them to develop innovation strategies, innovation frameworks, and building capabilities, in addition, he has done extensive work with the UAE Innovation ecosystem. He has worked with organizations such as the UAE Prime Minister Office, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Center for Government Innovation, the Ministry of Interior, Abu Dhabi Ports, among many others. Rafael holds a Ph.D. in Innovation from the United Nations University & Maastricht University. He currently is a Partner at Sia Partners, and a Board Member of the Global Innovation Management Institute.
