First Session : The Role of Innovation in Realizing the Kingdom’s Vision 2030

The Kingdom’s Vision 2030 was launched in 2016 to serve as a turning point in the history of the Kingdom. It is based on pillars, goals and programs that the Kingdom adopts to achieve comprehensive and sustainable administrative development in all of its major fields, including building a vibrant society, a thriving economy, and an ambitious nation. The Vision also emphasizes the importance of innovation, vision, initiative, and proactive ability to anticipate the future, as well as achieving efficiency and effectiveness in state agency practices for their tasks in light of the economic, social and technical changes. Accordingly, the session will focus on the key innovation projects and programs which have enabled and will enable the Kingdom to keep pace with various changes and achieve the goals of its ambitious vision.

Second Session : Global Trends in Government Innovation

This session examines global trends in government innovation and spotlights the experiences and best practices of the leading countries in the field, as well as their innovative programs, methodologies, and work methods. The experiences of these countries in developing government policies based on innovation as well as the mechanisms used to chart future paths to enhance government innovation will be discussed during the session. The session also reviews how governments employ innovation to bring about necessary change, deal with and adapt to crises, and enable international cooperation to enhance innovation ecosystems and achieve the desired integration among them.

Third Session : Partnerships for Enabling Innovation

Partnerships are critical for both government and business sector agencies. It can be used to develop innovative and cutting-edge business models, enhance spending efficiency, increase competitiveness, and improve products and services. Therefore, this session examines partnership models that can be used to enable government innovation, as well as how partnerships can assist government agencies in achieving their goals and objectives. The session also discusses how to create effective public-private partnerships in order to improve innovation opportunities in both sectors, and how to stimulate a culture of innovation in the public sector based on the private sector's accumulated experiences.

Fourth Session : The Global Economic Landscape in 2030

This session sheds light on the global economic outlook in light of accelerating changes and successive crises. During this session, the focus will be on the global impact of Covid-19, global economic transformations, competition and innovation in the digital economy. It will also cover the most prospective investment sectors, the role of communication and information technology in supporting the economic development process, and how all these factors will contribute to shaping the global economy in 2030.

Fifth Session : Foreseeing the Future of Government Work

Government work is one of the main areas which governments strive to improve. They develop policies to improve the working environment, develop future capabilities, and enable government innovation across a wide range of government activities and businesses. This comes in response to the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the major transformations that societies are experiencing. This session explores public officials’ perceptions of the future of government work and the public policies and national programs aimed at improving government work.  It will  also discuss how these policies and programs will contribute to shaping a promising future for government work that will enable it to overcome challenges, keep pace with change, and benefit individuals and society.

Sixth Session : Government Innovation Opportunities, Drivers and Challenges in Saudi Arabia

This session focuses on the main drivers of innovation and the consolidation of its culture in various areas of government work, as well as infrastructure development mechanisms, in order to find proactive solutions to the challenges that the public sector faces, thus enhancing the Kingdom’s readiness to move forward. The session also elaborates the Kingdom’s opportunities to improve its competitiveness in the areas of government innovation and research. Moreover, it will also discuss the challenges that governments faced during the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the opportunities that led to the development of innovative solutions to ensure business continuity and deliver government services.
